Introduction

Via Evo ("we") respects the privacy of its riders and captains ("you"). This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Via (rider) and Via Captain (driver) apps, and how we use and protect it.

1. Data We Collect

a. Data you provide

• Phone number: for registration and OTP verification.
• Name: shown to the other party during a trip.
• Vehicle details (captains): model, color, plate number, year.

b. Data collected automatically

• Precise location: while requesting and during trips, to show routes and connect captain with rider. Captain location is tracked while online to display to the rider.
• Trip data: pickup/dropoff points, distance, duration, fare, payment method, and mutual ratings.
• Push token (FCM): to deliver trip notifications.
• Technical data: device type, OS, and crash logs to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Operating the ride-hailing service: matching requests, showing routes, calculating fares.
• Communication between rider and captain during trips.
• Sending trip status notifications.
• Maintaining trip history, earnings, and invoices.
• Improving the service, fixing crashes, ensuring safety, and preventing fraud.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Data Sharing

• Between trip parties: after acceptance, the captain sees the rider's name, location, and destination; the rider sees the captain's name, vehicle details, location, and rating.
• Technical service providers (only as necessary):
  • Google Maps Platform — maps, routes, and addresses.
  • Firebase (Google) — push notifications and crash reporting.
  • Authentica — SMS OTP delivery within Saudi Arabia.
• Authorities: only upon a binding legal request.

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion

• We retain your data while your account is active, and trip records for accounting and regulatory purposes.
• You can permanently delete your account in-app (Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion, your personal data is removed and historical trip records are anonymized.

5. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on secured servers with restricted access.

6. Children

Our service is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect children's data.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
